A wet Wednesday

It was a rare treat to have some rain today. We put up our tarp over the fire circle and stayed dry. One of the interesting jobs we did was to peel the bark from a willow we cut at the start of the day. It is a tricky process where you scrape the top layer of bark from the tree and then slice it down the centre and carefully slide your hands inside and gently ease it off. It smells really fresh and sweet, like watermelon.Mark will be using the bark for basket making.

Work continued on the two bird tables and they are starting to take shape, as is the back wall of the wood shed, it has been such a team effort over a number of weeks and is now 3/4 finished. It's looking great!
