Today is Mark's birthday and if that wasn't enough excitement we had a huge delivery of wood generously donated to us from NFF Timber Buildings in Horam. It was a donation of treated timber for us to use; we are all thrilled and thinking up lots of new large scale woodworking projects we could now do.
Mark was treated to a delicious lemon drizzle birthday cake, kindly baked by one of our student's parent and Helen was delighted with a new crocheted hat from another student's parent. It has been a magical day!
Most of the morning was taken up moving the new timber and preparing a space to stack it all and stacking it up. We raked a lot of leaves to clear a space and these will be used alongside the manure we collected last week and the charcoal leftover pieces to make biochar.
In the afternoon, work started on another bug hotel and sanding and assembling a bird box.
