Foraging and digging a pond in the very hot sun!

On Tuesday we were excited to be starting the digging out of a new pond. The froglets have all left the nursery tank and the time is right to create an actual pond. We are digging it next to the new timber store as it has the water butt to collect rain water to keep the water level topped up.

We were so grateful for the shade of the trees today and although the temperature was very hot, it was cool enough under the trees. We were also very grateful to the sweet chestnut trees as they have beautiful flowers that we foraged and made a start for sweet chestnut flower champagne!
