Silver birch balm, planting and peeling and preparing chestnut bark

We really enjoyed working in the woods again today - after all the rain and sunshine, the woods are looking incredibly green and leafy. It was great to be able to forage for silver birch leaves and we made a hand balm from the leaves, bees wax and coconut oil.

We peeled and prepared a second chestnut bark that will be used to weave baskets from. It was very satisfying to finally be able to plant out in the new, repurposed planter in Fruit Corner. We added a netting tunnel to protect the new veggie plants from the birds. It was lovely to notice how well the fruits are doing in Fruit corner- we saw strawberries, red currents and raspberries starting to form and the mint, garlic and Welsh onions were very healthy.

We look forward to being able to when we can harvest and eat the produce.
