A warm winter welcome as we return to the woods

It was an incredibly sunny and calm day for our return to the woods. We all appreciated being outside and working on lots of different projects.

One of the projects was to cut the lid off a recycled water bowser that Mark had saved. He used the new jigsaw that we had bought through a donation. This is going to become a cold water dipping tank.

Helen spent some time tending to Fruit Corner. The fruit trees were mulched with wood peelings and some fantastic new arches for the netting were created by heating and bending some recycled metal stakes. They were heated over the fire and hammered intio shape over a log- it was very effective.

Lots of logs were axed to be made small enough for firewood and were then wheelbarrowed for storage, where they were covered and will be left to season.

Pallets were broken and the wood saved and denailed, while we enjoyed lots of cups of tea and chats around the fire to catch up with each other.
