Welcome Sarah to heartwood

We had a relaxed and yet very productive day at Heartwood on Wednesday. We were really pleased to welcome Sarah, our new Wednesday volunteer, to join us today for the first time. A long overdue job was to start fixing the chest of drawers in the poly tunnel. Mark was very pleased as he and a student made a new drawer from scratch and it worked a treat!

A lot of larger logs were axed to create smaller firewood, which was very satisfying. More work was done on one of the bird tables and it is looking great and now almost finished. The charcoal kiln needed a bit of attention to dig out the feet and allow air to circulate and two of the corroded feet were replaced.
