Tuesday 15th September
Today at Heartwood we had an exciting start as Mark was felling a chestnut stool to make way for the marquee to be moved to a new spot. There is a lot of wood to be cut, split and peeled so we can make use of every bit. Meanwhile, some of us collected more rowan berries and made rowan berry necklaces, this was a relaxing and pleasing activity.
Before lunch we went for a morning walk and saw the donkeys and enjoyed walking in a different area.
After lunch the finishing touches were put on the mud kitchen, three of the planters in Fruit Corner were ready for planting some new rainbow chard. We moved the bramble cuttings from the clearing and put them around and placed them around the base of the pond to stop the dogs eating the tadpoles’ cucumber. The tadpoles were fed.
