It was a beautiful icy, sunny winter's day - minus 1 degrees and the water in the willow soaker was frozen solid on the top. We also discovered that the water in the tap was also frozen, luckily the sun shone on the tap and we were able to have hot drinks.
Whilst sitting round the fire drinking tea, we were absolutely thrilled to see a fallow stag walking through the trees opposite the clearing. It was fantastic and very exciting! We have also been feeding our resident and very brave robin friend. The mealworm we are putting out is obviously a favourite as the robin is coming closer, whilst we are all there, including when someone is using the battery sander!
To keep warm, we did some active team work, using the log trolley to move logs from the wooded area behind the cabin to the charcoal kiln.
The infamous box bellows are one step away from being finished and the perspex lid and handle were fitted today. Having a perspex top is fantastic as you can see all the working mechanisms. It's very impressive!
