Sunshine and Hawthorn blossom tea

At Heartwood this week we were delighted to have a beautiful, dry sunny day. We discovered a tiny frog and a slow worm in the woods while we were moving logs. There was bark removal from a chestnut tree to prepare the bark for basket making, filling the new planter with soil, log axing, peeling poles using the shave horse, kindling making, lavender planting, as well as making a start on re-roofing the old wood store.

We embraced the abundance of spring and foraged to make Hawthorn blossom and bramble tip tea and Sam even cooked some delicious stinging nettle pakoras for lunch!
