This week at Heartwood we had a quieter day and enjoyed the late summer sunshine and blue skies. It was lovely to spend time fixing the shave horse, foraging for the final blackberries and finishing the large mallet. We harvested the final runner beans and tended fruit Corner. It was fun to see how much Barley had grown and he was happy to help us move logs in the woods.
We also spent time working on pallet breaking, de-nailing, digging charcoal and peeling chestnut poles. One of the popular things we do is build the campfire for hot drinks and cooking lunch. It is great that our clients are getting more confident and skilful at fire making.
