On Wednesday we made a lot of kindling from the pallet wood. Many of our students enjoy the process of sawing and splitting the recycled wood. We are aiming to sell wooden crates of kindling from September.
There was still quite a lot of logs which needed splitting, moving and stacking for seasoning and this was a good team effort. The blackberries are almost past their best and so we decided to pick as many as we could so they can be frozen for next week to make blackberry jam. Barley enjoyed a walk in the woods and work was started on a new chair.
We also spent some time ast the end of the day tending the woods, this included raking the fallen acorns from the grass clearing, sweeping the fire circle area and having a general tidy up. We left with the woods looking loved, as they are.
