Work continues on the wood shed

helenstringfellow

On Tuesday, we gathered willow from the boundary fence that had been pollarded the day before. The side branches were then cut off and the thicker pieces were used to start making a washstand. There was a lot of measuring, drilling and fixing to be done.

More work was done on the new wood shed; we dug two more deep holes and found long branches that were peeled and cut to length for the upright posts. Before they can be sunk into the holes, they had to be partially burned and this will harden them and prevent rot.

We had a visiter who came for a taster session in the morning and they had a good time trying out the different activities on offer. We are always happy to offer a free taster session to anyone who thinks they might be interested in joining The Heartwood Project.
