Today we welcomed our first three students to The Heartwood Project. The woods were looking absolutely stunning with a carpet of wood anemones and many of the bluebells arriving too.
It was a busy first day of building a fire for our hot drinks, splitting kindling, peeling bark from chestnut poles and .dismantling pallets for firewood and to recycle for woodworking projects. Some of us started making a tool box using the pallet wood and others made a dumbbell weight from greenwood! Planting Rowen and Wild Cherry trees was a positive way to mark our first day, as well as giving towards the next generations of all species,
It was great to finally all meet up and work together in the woods.
