Today has been a very hot day at Heartwood, so we put the hammocks up and spent lots of time under the shady trees. We started by watering David's tree and fruit corner before it got too hot. After tea break, we had two working parties - one group dug clay from the old pond and wheel-barrowed it down to the Yoda house; this will be used to cover the woven willow as wattle and daub. Meanwhile, the second group were weaving the remaining willow for the main structure of the hut, it is now almost complete!
After lunch, we decided not to go for a walk as it was too hot for Twig. So some of us chilled out in the hammocks, while others were busy wood working, this included: more work on the tortoise house, building another planter and a chair for the fire circle.
It was a tiring but rewarding day
