We were delighted to welcome two new visitors to Heartwood this week. They enjoyed trying their hand at using the shave horse for peeling a chestnut pole, sawing wood, splitting kindling and playing on the swing.
Mark had brought a lot of compost in the trailer and we used the wheelbarrows to move it all. We are thrilled to be able to have lots of compost to start the growing we are planning this year. Strawberry plants were planted with the new compost.
Some of us started to make a bird box while others made and fitted the second door for the poly tunnel. As it was Shrove Tuesday, Helen made pancakes for lunch- delicious!
It was great to see the beautiful blackthorn blossom in the woods.
