Signs of spring and a lot of mud!

After a lot of rain over the past week, it is incredibly muddy in the woods! However, wehad a great day working together on a range of activities. These included: making palm drills from holly branches, peeling chestnut logs, sawing and splitting pallet wood for the fire, carving a giant spoon and putting in spacers between the poly tunnel plastic and the back boards on the workbench. We are hoping this will stop the condensation soaking the wooden workbench. We enjoyed a big group job of cutting off the thin branches of the birch tree that Mark felled last week to use as brash to build up the privacy fencing around the unrinals.

Some of us went on a walk around the site and noticed a lot of different signs of spring - the first yellow celandine flower, frogspawn in the pond, mushrooms growing under our shelter and we also found deer prints and deer poo.
