Shelter rebuild and birch tapping

Updated: Mar 5, 2024

We had quite a surprise when we arrived at the woods this morning. The incredible volume of rain over the previous week has collected on the shelter tarp and broken the wood structure! We raised that today was going to be about fixing the shelter.

Always keen to embrace the changing seasons, we tried the silver birch to taste the sweet sap. It was very interesting to see how much we collected in just 5 hours. It tasted fresh and sweet.

Some of us made elder beads to make a bracelet and also completed another bird box kit.
