Wednesday's highlight was the frog spawn rescue we undertook. We'd noticed the frogspawn a few weeks ago but recently noticed the drop in water level where they were. We dug an interim mini pond and lined it with pond liner. Then we carefully transferred the frogspawn and will keep a keen eye on it.
The chainsaw had been on the blink but today Mark triumphed in taking it apart with one of the students and cleaning it, oiling it and resetting the chain and Voila! It worked a treat. Mark celebrated by using it to saw up the three birch trees felled the previous week ready to be axed for fire wood. In the afternoon, Helen and a student axed up most of the logs.
Work was completed on the hand washing stand. This was a whole team effort and will be used and greatly appreciated at the Nurture in Nature programme, a woodland based cancer support group, run by Helen and Sam.
