Roofing and gardening

On Tuesday, the roof was added to the wood storage shed. It took some angle grinding and pop-rivetting to put it in place but we are delighted to have the wood covered.

Work continued in Fruit Corner; it was great to see that the slugs and snails have yet to find the new plants. We planted out carrots, spring onions and broccoli. The peas and leeks are doing exceptionally well at the moment!

One of the students wanted to make a mallet to take home and made an excellent one from a piece of sweet chestnut. In the afternoon, some of the group dug out and bagged up more charcoal from the kiln. It is dirty work but very satisfying.
