Planting,Making, fixing and a friendly dragonfly

It was fantastic to welcome back one of our students after a long break. Our Heartwood community really appreciate spending time together and we had missed them. Fruit Corner was given some tending to cut back and clear the brambles that are encroaching on the area. We planted some spinach plants and hope they can thrive. The strawberry plant has suckered and sent out lots of baby strawberry plants so we potted them up too.

While using the log trolley to move more logs, we discovered it was a bit wobbly and in need of reinforcement so two of the team fixed it. Heartwood puppy Barley has grown again and is getting used to walking on the lead. He is very curious and enjoys sitting in his crate watching all of us working nearby.

A great fire was built and we had hot drinks and some of us even cooked our lunch over the fire today. Mark has cut some interesting shaped oak chopping boards that we have started sanding- it will take some time but they are already looking good.

Finally, two of our team were delighted to be visited by a dragonfly, it stayed close by and even landed on each of their hands - a rare treat!
