Making a coat peg and fire

helenstringfellow

This week was another beautiful sunny day at the woods and we finished making the large wooden coat peg for a forest school nursery. It took a lot of sanding and glueing of the pegs to finish it off. We are proud of the end result and look forward to hearing how the children like it.

Whilst on a foraging walk for blackberries and kindling, we discovered several different fungi, the photo is of an earth ball mushroom - not one to eat!

One of the students made a wooden mallet for an upcoming camping trip and also learnt how to safely lay and light a campfire.
