Happy birthday at heartwood

Helen was delighted to celebrate her birthday at Heartwood this week. It was great for her to be in the woods with the Heartwood team for her birthday and it rained a lot less than forecast so she was happy with that.

This week we did quite a few team woodland care jobs. Moving and stacking firewood logs, moving long logs to the kiln area to be seasoned for next year's charcoal, tending Fruit corner, although unsurprisingly no watering was needed this week due to all the rain! There was also a lot of other woodworking being done- fixing a shelving unit, splitting pallet wood for kindling, pallet breaking, de-nailing and sawing the pallet wood, as well as sawing the willow.
