Fungi and acorns

Today it was all about the acorns and fungi. We discovered so many different mushrooms and toadstools growing around the woods after all the wet weather we've been having. They were incredibly interesting as there was such a variety of colour, texture and size.

Acorns were the other focus to our day. After the big winds over the weekend, the oak tree on the clearing dropped a huge number of its acorns. We spent some time raking them up and then spread them on the large table to sort out the good ones. We will then process these to make flour. It was a fun day and so good to see how the change in weather has changed the land and what is growing.
