On Wednesday we got creative and made some conker soap. We smashed the conkers into pieces with hammers and put in a large pot and covered with boiling water and simmered for 45 minutes. The liquid was then strained to remove the bits and these were discarded. The liquid was then left to cool and lemon juice was squeezed and added before pouring into jars. The result was an excellent soap that can be used for hands or dishes but certainly had an interesting and earthy smell!
Two mallets were made, more work on one of the chair projects, as well as a walk with Barley. A lovely autumnal day.
