Charcoal Making

We had an epic day of charcoal making this week. It was a fabulous whole team effort to load the kiln with seasoned wood - mainly chestnut and birch. We then lit underneath vi four of the feet and then added 4 chimneys. It was very exciting and impressive and for a lot of us it was the first time we had taken part in charcoal making.

Another first were the two raspberries we found in Fruit Corner - delicious! We appear to be winning the battle with the slugs this week and haven't lost anymore veg or salad.
