A busy day at heartwood

This week we were treated to a stunning display of bluebells when we arrived at the woods. They look and smell incredible! We foraged for some stinging nettles and made nettle tea. Helen and Mark are making the most of the wild food available in the spring time and ate rosemary crackers with wild garlic pesto.

We worked as a team to build a new shave horse today from recycled wood and almost finished it. We also made willow cordage bracelets from the willow bark we prepared last week.

Planting this week was repotting the garlic as it was getting overcrowded in the original pots and sowing some more tomato, rocket and pepper seeds. We used a mix of biochar and sand for the compost.
